Description

UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
GEORGE F. MEAGHAM, OF NEWTON, ASSIGNOR TO JAMES W. TUFTS, OF MEDFORD, MASSACHUSETTS.
DESIGN FOR SODA-FOUNTAINS.
Specification forming part of Dcsigu No. 5,701, dated March 19, 1872.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, GEORGE F. MEAGHAM, of Newton, in the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for the Casing of a Soda-VVater Apparatus, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying photograph making part of this specification.
In the photograph, A represents the casing of asoda-wat-er apparatus, which is of oblong form, each of its corners being beveled at b. In front of each corner is a statuette, B, placed upon a pedestal, c, which rests on a rounded projection, 01, at each corner of the base e. On each side of each of the statuettes B is a column, f, extending up from the base a to the cap 9. Over each statuette B is a canopy, h, which also forms a support for the pedestal of another statuette, O, which may be adapted to hold a gas-burner,1f desired. Above the cap g, at the sides and ends of the casing, are parallel goblets D, and the Whole is surmounted by a fountain in a glass case, E, provided with an ornamental cap, i, upon which rests a statuette, k. The fountain may, however, be dispensed with, and the number of statuettes may be varied, if desired.
The casing above described, with its unique embellishments, is highly ornamental, and presents an exceedingly picturesque and beam tiful appearance.
Claim.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-- The design for the casing of a soda water apparatus, substantially as herein shown and described.
Witness my hand this 24th day of February,
GEO. I MEAGHAM.
Witnesses:
P. E. TESCHEMACHER, HENRY J. PRESTON.
