Description

UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FREDERICK ROBERT SEIDENSTIGKER, OF MERIDEN, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO BRADLEY & HUBBARD, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR CHANDELIER.
Specification forming part of Design No. 5,344, dated October 31, 1871.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, FREDERICK ROBERT SEL DENSTIUKER, of Meriden, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new and original Design for Chandelier; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawing con stitntes part of this speci fication and represents a side View.
This invention relates to a design for that part of a chandelier termed the arm or bracket; and consists in the peculiar configuration of the bracket, and also the basket, which is attached to the outer extremity of the arm for the support of the lamp, each as shown in the accompanying illu stration, and as hereinafter described.
The form of the bracket is shown fully in the illustration: starting from the center or body of the chandelier, to which it is attached, the brackct curves upward to a transverse cap, thence curves downward to the burner; but I wish to be understood as claiming this bracket whether applied to a chandelier or used as a wall-bracket, the key or cock forming no part of the design. The basket, which is used when lamps are applied, is an open frame-work, of the form shown in the accompanying illustration, supported upon the outer extremity of the bracket. This basket or cup is applied to other styles of bracket. I therefore do not confine my design to the combined bracket and basket; but I do claim The design for bracket and lamp-cup, as shown in the accompanying illustration, together or separately, as described.
