JOSEPH KINTZ, OF WEST MERIDEN, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO HIMSELF AND P. J. CLARK, OF SAME PLACE.
IMPROVEMENT IN CHANDELIER CENTERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 119,773, dated October 10, 1871.
To all whom it may concern;
Be it known that I, JOSEPH KINTz, of West Meriden, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new and Improved Chandelier Center, of which the following is a specification:
My invention consists in having the chandelier-arms connected to the center piece by a shank or tenon going through the rim or wall of said center piece and receiving a nut, key, or other fastening, the shoulders of said arms having projections fitting in sockets in the outer face of the wall or rim to prevent turning.
Figure l is a plan view of the center piece and short sections of the arms, and Fig. 2 is a section on the line 00 00.

A represents the arms; B, the rim or wall of the center piece they are to be connected to. This wall has holes for the tenons C of the arms and sockets or recessesE surroundingthem. The shoulders D of the arms have each a projection, F, fitted to its socket E, to be drawn into it by the nut G, key H, or other fastening that may be used to secure the arm.
I am thus en abled to use the most simple mode of connecting the arms, and by it hold them securely against turning, which has heretofore prevented the use of such connections.
Having thus described myinvention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent The arm connected to the center piece by the tenons C and a nut or key, and having a projection on the shoulder fitting into a socket in the center piece to prevent turning, all substantially as specified.
