Description
atria HENRY A. TWEED, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
Design No. 4,533, dated December 20, 1870.
DESIGN FOR A MEDICINE-DROPPER.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HENRY A. 'lwnnn, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for MedicineDroppers, of which the following is a specification.
The design illustrated in the accompanying drawing consists of a cork or stopper, (1-, made preferably of vulcanized rubber, and two small tubes, 7), made preferably of glass.
The cork is perforated so as to allow the tubes, which are attached to it, to communicate with the interior of the bottle in which the cork or stopper may be inserted.
The tubes, which are of about equal length, extend up from the top of the cork, and are curved or bent in opposite directions, so that when either tube is used to drop the liquid the other may act asa vent. When the device is in use, a small plug may be put into the vent-tube, so that, by adjusting the plug, the air may be admitted more or less freely, thus regulating the flow of the fluid.
The two tubes may begin to curve in opposite directions at a greater or lesser distance from the cork, as desired, this depending in a great measure upon the length of the tube.
By bending the ends of the tubes over in the manner shown each tube is fitted to act equally well as a dropper or a vent-tube.
\Vbat I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a lncdicine-dropper as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification before two subscribing witnesses.
HENRY A. TWEED.
