IMPROVEMENT IN LAMP-FILLERSV.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 95.948. dated Octoberl9, 1869.
To a/ZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HENRY NV. STArLEs, of Saco, inthe county of York and State of Maine, have invented a new and Improved Lamp- Filler; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification. v
This invention relates to a new and useful improvement in vessels for iilling lamps; and it consists in an air-tube attached .thereto and arranged as will be hereinafter more fully described.
In the accompanying sheet of drawings, Figure l represents a sectional side view of a lamp-iiller provided with one of my air-tubes. Fig. 2 is a top view of the same.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
A represents the vessel orlamp-iiller. the discharge-tube.
B is C is the air-tube, the arrangement of which on the vessel forms my invention. This tube is attached to the body of the can, just below the cap D, and enters the discharge-tube B at the angle E. Fromthe angle E it extends to near the dischargenozzle, as seen at f.
In experimenting with lamp-fillers I have found that by arranging the air-tube in this .manner the best result is obtained, While the HENRY W. STAPLES.
