TO ALL WHOM 1T MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, WILLAM J. LYMAN, of East Hampton, in the county of Hampshire, and State of Massachusetts, have, invented a new and improved Portable Chamber-Closetg and I do hereby declaro thatrthc following is a full, clear, and exact description thcrcof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use thc same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 represents a vertical transverse section of-my improved portable. chamber-closet Figure 2 is a vertical longitudinal section of the same.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
This invention relates to certain improvements on the chamber-closct for which Letters Patent, No. 74,558, were granted meen the eighteenth day of February, 1868, and it consists in the combination and arrangement of devices as will be hereinafter described.
A, in the drawing, represents the closet.
B is its folding cover;
C, the' fixed seat, with an aperture, a, through it.
D is a door in the side ofthe closet, for allowing to get at the inside of the closet.
E is the up-and-down adjustable platform, arranged within the closet. i i

VH represents a lid, hinged to the back of thc seat C, or otherwise, and provided with an aperture, c, which issmaller than that in the seat C.` When the apparatus is to be used by adults, the lid H is swung Back, as in iig. 2, and when to be used children it is folded down, so as to cover the scat..
