Description
F. w. ZOCHERT.
Coffee Roaster.
No. 93,389. v Patented Aug. 3, #18 69.
E'W. ZOCHERT, or WATERTOWN, WISCONSIN.
Letters Patent No. 93,389, dated August 3, 1869.
COFFEB-ROAS'IER.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all whom t't may concern I. Be it known that I, F. W. ZOCHERT, of Watertown, in the county of Jefferson, and State of Wisconsin, have invented a new and improved Coffee-Roaster; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part of this specification, in which.
Figure 1 represents a side View of my improved coffee-roaster.
Figure 2 is a front view of the same. Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
This invention relates to a new coffee-roaster, or rather to a new case for containing the same, and consists in the use of a cap which covers the roasting-cylinder, and which is provided with double folding doors,
through which the cylinder may be removed, to be filled and emptied.
When the doors are closed, the heat is all confined in the cap, and is brought above as well as below the cylinder, to equalize the roasting-process.
A, in the drawing, represents a coffee-roasting cylinder of ordinary or suitable construction.
13 is its axle.
The axle is supported on a ring, O, which is large enough to fit into an opening of a stove cover, and which has a projecting flange, a, to be supported thereby.
Above the ring 0 is arranged a sheet-metal or other cap, D, which is of suitable shape, and suiticiently large to completely envelop the cylinder above the stove-plate.
On, one side the cap is provided with folding doors, E E, which close over the axle B, shown in fig. 2, and which, when opened, allow the removal of the cylinder from the cap. When they are closed, they serve, togetherwith the cap, to retain the heat around the cylinder, to prevent its ready escape, and to quicken the roasting-process.
The doors, can be locked by means of a suitable latch, 12, or other equivalent device.
Having thus described my invention, Vi hat I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The cap I), having the doors E '15, when combined with the supporting-ring O and roasting-cylinder A, all arranged and operating substantially as herein shown and described.
