Figure 2, a. view, drawn to a reduced scale, Of the Arab or Bedouin as it appears when unfoldcn.
General Description.
A, fig. 2, is a strip of any desired fabric, arranged as shown, and having, at the upper edge, a fold, a.
To the fabric, midway between its opposite ends, is stitched a hood-piece, B, of the form, or approximating to the form, represented in the drawing; and,
where the lower pointed end Of this hood is stitched to the fabric, the latter is puckered or gathered, and thereby formed into a series of loose folds, e e, so that, when applied to the person, as shown in fig. 1, the rear of the garment will have the appearance shown in iig. 2.
The ornamentation of the garment may be varied without departing from the general chalacter of the design; for instance, fringe may be stitched to the lower edge of the band a, and the ends and lower edge of the garment may have a similar fringe.
An ornamental tassel may also be hung at the point x, iig. 1, and at the point of the hood-piece B.
llrespeetive, therefore, of any specific pattern of fabric, or any minor ornamentation of the garment,
I claim- The design consisting of a hood-piece, B, in combination with the gathered folds e e of an Arab or Bedouin, the whole being formed substantially as described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of tivo subscribing witnesses.
