Description
dntr gisten ROBERT HITCHCOCK, OF SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS.
Design N o. 3,794, dated December 2l, 1869.
DESIGN FOR A CAR-VBNTILATOR.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
I, ROBERT HITCHCOCK, of Springfield, Hampden county, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Car-VentilatorCase, of which the following is a speci iication.
The nature of my design is fully represented in the accompanying drawing, to which reference is made.
I will now describe the form of the case, as shown in the drawing, which shows the outline of' the front or hack end or section of the ventilator-oase.
The case is formed of tin or similar sheet-metal, bent into the shape shown, that is, with the side A in a straight line, nearly orquite horizontal, the side B at right angles to the same, the two boingjoincd by a slight curve at a, for convenience in bending, but this is not au essential part of the design, as the angie may be formed completely, if desired.
Upon the side A, I 'orxn a Bange, b, for attaching the case to the side of the car.
The top side C is formed straight for a part of the distance across it, as shown, and also has formed the flange b', for the same purpose as the ange b.
This straight part C ofthe top, and the straight part of the side B, are joined by a curved line, I), as shown.
The advantage of this form of case is, that while neat in shape and appearance, it gives, where it is inost needed, a large surface, namely, at the bottom where the opening is presented to the air, while the upper part has, in its contracted forni, plenty of room for the devices I use in my ventilator, made under my various patents.
I claim, as my invention- The design for car-ventilator case, as shown and described.
ROBERT HITCHCOCK.
