DESIGN FOR A FUR COLLAR.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part o! the same.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ISAAC LEWINE, of the city, count-y, and State of' New York, have invented a new and improved Design for Collar and Ear-Protector and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making a part of' this specification, in which- Figure 1 represents a collar and ear-protector in position upon the person of the wearer.
Figure 2 is a perspective view of the same detached from the person.
This invention is a design for collar and ear-protectors made of' fur, or fur and cloth combined, and intended to be worn as shown in fig. 1, to protect the neck, throat, ears, and sides ofthe face from cold.
The main feature of the desgh is its H-shape, as shown in fig. 2. As thus constructed, the device consists of two flaps, a b, to protect the ears; two aps, a b', to protect the throat; a connecting-piece, c, to protect the back of' the neck; a ribbon or other tie, d, to support the ear-Haps; and a button and loop, e, to fasten the throat-flaps.
Exactly one-halfot' the device is shown in iig. 1, the
other half` being the precise counterpart of the one that is shown.
The outlines of' the upper edge ofthe device are represented by the line m m1 'm2 m m m2 m m, the outlines oi' the lower edge being represented by the line m m5 m m5 'mi 1t will be observed that the lower edge curves iu ward or upward at and near the point 'm5, and that m' m1 and m, of the upper edge, represent angles, as shown in the drawings.
An ornamental binding of fur or other suitable material is observed around the entire edge of the collar and ear-protector, which appears along the lines m fm', &c.
