DESIGN FOR A FlREPLACE-FRONT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design N o. 36,069, dated September 9, 1902.
Application led July 29, 1902. Serial No. 117,588. Term of Intent 7 years.
To all whom it muy concern:
Beit known that I, THOMAS M. DUDGEON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Orafton, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for Fireplace-Fronts, of which the following is a full, clear, and eX- aet description, reference being had to the aeeompauying drawing, forming part hereof, in which the invention is shown in front elevation.
Theleading features of my design eonsistin a frame the Sides of which have sorolled inner and outer edges. The cross-piece, Which is in the form of a hood, has serollwork at the Corners anda Serolled upper edge. The hooded portion proper has a wavy or undulating lower edge, and its upper surface is separated into variously-shaped portions by diversely-extending scrolls and meeting lines.
The eenter or summer front shows in the background alake and mountain scene. In the foreground the figures of three boys are Seen, one standing on an ornamental Walled platform and playing on a violin and the others sitting on the edge of the platform and playing the one on a mandolin and the other on a harp. Surmounting the column at one corner of the platform is a flower-u rn with a palm-plant contained therein. At the other side of the platform a palm-tree is Seen.
I claim- The ornamental design fora fireplace-front as described and shown.
