(Application filed Feb..28, 1902.)
Q ZMA w WMQ UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
HERMAN E. FRANKE, OF MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN.
DESIGN FOR AGAS-ARC LIGHT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,835, dated April 1, 1902.
Application filed February 28, 1902. Serial No- 96,353- Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HERMAN E. FRANKE, residing at Milwaukee, in the county of Milwaukee and State of Wisconsin, have invented a new and original Design fora Gas-Arc Light, of which the following is adescription, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, which is a part of this specification.
My invention has relation to a new and 10 original design for a gas-arc light.
The accompanying drawing illustrates an elevation of a gas-arclight, showing my new design.
The leading or material feature of my de- [5 sign is the general or ornate appearance as tend a plurality of gas-tubes B, leading to the mantles C, a globe-holder D, globe E, main gas-tube F, lower shade G, drum H, and upper shade I.
The distinguishingornate appearancewhich 2 5 is imparted to this gas-arc light and which constitutes the leading or material feature of my design is given thereto by the provision of three ornamental rings or bands, the lower ring or band being indicated by the letter J,
0 the intermediate one by the letter K, and the upper one by the letter L. The lower ring or band J surmounts the globe-holder and partakes of the appearance of a crown having thereon a series of ornamental figures resembling in appearance a succession of lotusleaves, spaced partaround the ring, and with other ornamental figures in the spaces.
Theintermediate ring or band K surmounts the shade G and is also of the general appearance of a crown with figures resembling lotus-leaves around and projecting above its upper edge and spaced part with intervening ornamental figures between the leaves. This ring is wide enough to provide a lower space therearound, which is suitably ornamented by a chain comprising a series of connected ornate figures arranged between two rings of beads.
The upper ring or band L surmounts the drum H and is decorated or embellished with the representation of a series of flowers extending entirely therearound.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a gas-arc light, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
HERMAN E. FRANKE.
