DESIGN FOR A HANDLE FOR SPOONS, FORKS, OR SIMILAR ARTICLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,408, dated December 10, 19 1.
Application filed October 25, 1901. Serial No. 79,964. Term of patent 14 years- To 60% whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, CHARLES A. BENNETT, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Taunton, in the county of Bristol and State 5 oflliassachusetts,l1aveinvented and produced a new and original Design for the Handles of Spoons, Forks, or Similar Articles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which 10 form a part hereof.
In the drawings, Figure 1 represents a plan view of a spoon or fork handle exhibiting my new and original design, and Fig. 2 is a side View thereof.
From the narrow, portion or shank of the handle, at about the point marked a, there is developed in has-relief the form of a loud sufficiently conventionalized to adapt it to the general shape of the article to which it is apzo plied. This bud b, as shown in the drawings,
is of the form and character of the fleur-delis. Next above the bud ornamentation at 5 the design develops a second flower figure, also in has-relief. This flowerfigure,as shown in the drawings at c, is of the form and char acter of the poppy blossom.- Next above the blossom ornamentation at c the design de velops another flower figure in has-relief. This flower figure, as shown at d, is of the form and character of an orchid. Lastly, at the end of the handle the design develops a fourth figure in has-relief. This figure, as shown at e, is of the form and character of a peony blossom. The petals of the flowers and the foliage ornamentations which accompany them and assist in the composition conform to the general outline of the handle.
What I claim, and desire to secure by Let ters Patent, is-
The design for a handle, for spoons, forks, or similar articles, substantially as herein shown and described.
