Be it known that I, ERNEST MEYERS, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of 'launton, in the county of Bristol and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Handle for Spoons, Forks, or Similar Articles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part hereof.

Said drawing represents a front view of a spoon or fork handle, exhibiting my new and original design. From the narrow part of the shank of the handle, at about the point marked a, there are developed in relief reedlike or tendril-like forms, (shown in the drawing at 1),) from which appear to be springing the forms of foliated stalks bearing buds. These foliated stalks c and buds d d are also in relief and, as shown in the drawing, are of the form and character of the fronds and buds, respectively, of a chrysanthemum. Above the said bud ornamentations cl d, at about the junction of the shank with the handle proper and at one side of the median line of the handle, the design develops a flower figure or blossom, also in has-relief, while beside said flower figure or blossom and on the other side of said median line are other buds, also in relief. Said flower figure or blossom and said last-mentioned buds, as shown in the drawing at e and ff, respec= tively, are of the form and character of a ehrysanthem um blossom and buds. The blossom, buds, and foliage ornamentation,which accompanies them and assists in the composition,are sufliciently conventionalized to conform to the general outline of the handle of the article to which they are applied. Above the blossom and bud ornamentation e and ff and around the edge of the broad part of the handle the design develops the fillets g and g, overlying which are the foliate figures 7t and h, rising from behind the blossom and buds e and ff. At the end of the handle is an0t)her bud-figure. (Shown in the drawing at i.

What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is'

The design for a handle for spoons, forks orsimilar articles, substantially as shown and described;
