DESIGN FOR A LORGNETTE-CASE.
SPECIFICATION formingpart of Design No. 35,312, datd November 26, 1901.
Application filed November 2,- 1901- Serial No. 80,961- Term of patent years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HENRY L. GRAsMUK, a citizen of the United States, residing in Newark, county of Essex, and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and originalDesign for a Lorgnette-Oase, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the drawings accompanying and forming a part of the same.
Figure 1 is an elevation of the front of the lorgnette-case. Fig. 2 is an elevation of the back of the lorgnette-case. Fig. 3 is a transverse section taken on line 3 3 of Fig. 1. Fig. 4. is a transverse section taken on line 4 4 of Fig. 2. Fig. 5 is a transverse section on line 5 5 of Figs. 1 and 2.
The elliptical body A of the front of the case (shown in Fig. l) is joined to the handle B, having incurved sides, and the head 0 is joined to the upper end of the body, slight indentations being formed at the j unctures between the body, the handle, and the head. The head O has a general calyx formation, the upper part of the head being in the form of a trefoil. Conventional leaf elements F, having undulatory curves, are used as a border for the body, and the head and the c0nventional leaf elements E, having similar curves, are used as a border for the handle. These leaf elements E are interlaced at the lower end of the handle to form the two apertures D. It will be noted that the border elements E of the handle form the two lan'ceolate panels K and L.
The front of the case is ornamented at the juncture of the body and head with a female head G with flowing hair, and the body of the case is also ornamented by a fleur-de-lis H, arranged between the border leaf elements F.
The back of the lorgnette case (indicated in Fig. 2) has the same design as the front, which has already been described, except that the fleur-de lis H is not used to orna-' ment the body of the case, so that an open central panel I is formed on the body having an irregular shape.
What is claimed as new is- The design for a lorgnette-case as shown and described.
HENRY L. GRASMUK.
