COLUMBUS W. TAYLOR, OF HUNTINGTON, WEST VIRGINIA.
DESIGN FOR A NUT-LOCK WASHER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,939, dated August 13, 1901.
Application filed June 3, 1901. Serial No. 63,038. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, COLUMBUS W. TAYLOR, a citizen of the United States, residing at Huntington, in the county of Oabell and State Q of lVestVirginia,h-ave invented and produced a new and original Design for a Nut-Lock \Vasher, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for a nut-lock washer, and the essential features reside in the design as illustrated in the accompanying drawings, Where- Figure l is a perspective View of a washer embodying the features of the design. Fig. 2 is a section through the same.
The design is characterized by a square body 1, having a central circular opening 2 therethrough. At intermediate points in the edges 3 triangular notches 4: are formed and provide distinct corner members 5, having a portion 6 of the edges thereof converged to form pointed heads 7, and the remaining portions of the edges of the said members, as at 8, are parallel and at an angle to the portions 6. Two of the members diametrically opposed to each other are bent to one side at a right angle to the plane of the body. The corner members 5 are diametrically-opposite to each other, and the side edges 8 thereof are in direct alinement. This particular contour is readily attainable by having the body 1 primarily of square form.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new is The design for a nut-lock washer, as herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto affixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
COLUMBUS WV. TAYLOR.
