ISADORF. MAOKSON, OF BUFFALO, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A BADGE OR SIMILAR ARTICLE.y
SPECIFICATION fOrmng' part Of Design N0. 34,811, dated. July 23, 1901.
Application led June 18, 1901. Serial No. 65,069. Term of patent Si years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ISADORE MAOKSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Buffalo, in the county of Erie and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Badge or SimilarArticle, of which the following is a specification, refer ence being had to the accompanying draw- 'ngs, forming part thereof.
The invention relates to a new and original design for a badge or similar article; and the essential features of the design reside in a body representing a pan having the usual upwardlyeprojecting handle and having also a volute spring projecting outward from its bottom. Carried on the outer end of said spring is a representation of a buffalo. The body has aiiixed to its outwardly-liarin g rim a circular convexoconcave cover portion. Arranged on one side of the outwardly-ilaring rim of the pan is a curved lip, and diametrically opposite the same an elongated aperture is provided, in which a cylindrical extension, formed on the adjacent edge of the cover portion, is held. An ear extending at right angles to the cover portion is arranged on the edge of the same at a point diametrically opposite the cylindrical extension and an elongated aperture formed on the curved lip of the pan. The reverse or convex side of the cover portion is embellished with the representation of the Western hemisphere.
In the drawings, Figure l is a front elevation of my design.
Fig. 2 isa rear view of the same. Fig. 3 is a transverse section taken on line 3 3, F'igQl.
The numeral l designates the body portion, simulating a pan which has the usual upwardly projecting handle 2 and the outwardly-flaring rim 8, provided with the usual curved lip 4. Projecting outwardly from the bottom of the pan is a volute spring 5, which is provided at its outer end with a plate or other similar article 6, having the representa; tion of a buffalo outlined or otherwise formed thereon. On the flaring rim 3 an elongated aperture 7 is provided, and diametrically opposite on the curved lip 4 a similar aperture 8 is arranged. Y
The numeral 9 designates the conveXo-cone cave circular cover portion, which is provided at its edge, at diametrically opposite points, with a cylindrical extension l0, held in the aperture 7, and an ear l1, arranged to extend at right angles thereto, respectively. On the reverse or convex side of the cover, as shown at 12, Fig. 2, the representation of the Western hemisphere is applied.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is- The design for a badge or similar article, substantially as herein shown and described.
Witness my hand this 14th day of June, 1901.
ISADORE MAOKSON.
Witnesses:
