TOM BRABSON, OF BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR AN INCANDESCENT GAS ARC-LAM P.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,660, dated June 11, 1901.
Application filed May 17, 1901. Serial Nd. 60,777. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, TOM BRABSON, a citizen of the United States, residing in the borough of Brooklyn, county of Kings, city and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Incandescent Gas Arc-Lamps, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad therein to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof, in which Figure] is a side elevation of the lamp; Fig. 2, a plan View thereof, and Fig. 3 a horizontal sectional View taken on the line III III of Fig. 1.
As shown in the drawings, the design consists of a base-piece 1, which is of an inverted substantially cone shape. Above the base is a substantially spherical body 2, whose lower part is in close proximity to the upper surface of the base 1. At a suitable distance above the spherical body is a large horizontal disk 3, whose center is directly over the center of the spherical body 2. Be-
tween the spherical body 2 and the disk 3 is a vertical cylinder 4:, of perforated or openwork material, which is smaller in diameter than the spherical body and the disk 3 and is arranged concentrically therewith. The lower edge of this cylinder is in close arrangement with the upper part of the spherical body and its upper edge is near to the lower surface of the disk 3, so that the space between these two parts is almost entirely inclosed by this cylinder. Between the upper end of the cylinder and the lower surface of the disk 3 is a horizontal disk 5, which is slightlylarger than the cylinder 4, but smaller than the disk 8. From the center of the disk 3 projects an upward-extending vertical rod 6.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for an incandescent gas arclamp or similar article, substantially as herein shown and described.
Signed at the city, county, and State of New York this 15th day of May, 1901.
TOM BRABSON.
