(Application filed Mar. 19, 1901.;
$5 11' (I q vi/lwww I L UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FRANK ZWICK, OF QUINCY, ILLINOIS.
DESIGN FOR A FLY-TRAP.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,376, dated April 16, 1901.
Application filed MarclrlQ, 1901. Serial No; 51,944. Term of patent 7 years.
T0 at whmn it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANK ZWIOK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Quincy, in the county of Adams and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Fly-Trap, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for a fly-trap, andhas for its object to provide a design of this character which shall be both useful and ornamental.
One of the leading features of the design resides in a base comprising a pair of hollow reversely-disposed truncated cones joined together at. their truncate edges, the diameter of the lower cone at its bottom edge being greater than that of the upper cone at its top edge, and a cylindrical body arranged upon said base and having vertical walls, the lower edges of which are joined to the top edge of the upper cone, which thus forms the bottom of said body.
Further features reside in a top closing the upper end of the body, a funnel secured to the joined edges of the cones of the base and having a contracted upper end which projects into the body, and depending feet secured at or contiguous to the lower edge of the base.
In the drawings, Figure l is a perspective View of a fly-trap embodying the present device. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section of the same. Fig. 3 is a cross-section thereof.
In said drawings the base as a whole is des ignated by the reference numeral 10, and comprises a pair of hollow reversely-disposed truncated cones l1 and 12, joined together at their truncate edges, the diameter of the lower cone at its bottom edge being greater than that of the upper cone at its top edge. A cylindrical body 13 is arranged upon this base and has vertical side walls 14, the lower edges of which are joined, as at 15, to the top edge of the upper cone, said cone thus forming the bottom of said body.
The upper end of the body is closed by a top 16, and a funnel 17 is secured at its lower edge to the joined edges of the cones of the base, said funnel having its upper end 0011- tracted and projecting into the body. Depending feet 18 are secured at or contiguous to the lower edge of the base.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a fly-trap as herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto affixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
FRANK ZWIOK.
