ELZY M. WOLFF, OF MANSFIELD, OHIO.
DESIGN FOR A MONUMENT.
To to whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ELZY M. WOLFE, acitizen of the United States, residing at Mansfield, in the county of Richland and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a certain ,new and useful Design for Monuments, of
which the following is a specification.
The monumentaldesign (illustrated by the accompanying perspective drawing) consists of a rectangular base A, a second or molded base B, resting upon the lower base. The die 0 is shorter than the base B on the horizontal line and' inclining from all sides toward the top. Each end of the die is provided with the buttress D, the upper surface being carved. The vertical walls of each buttress are provided with raised geometrical figures F. Near the top of the die and extending around the same is out the carved frieze G; but upon the face of the die and below the name is a festoon H. The upper edge of the die is formed into a concave molding I, extending around the same. upper face of the die is a statue J, consisting of two figures mot-her and childthe mother holding the child by the hand and looking backward, the child looking forward and one arm extended, pointing in the direction in which she is looking.
Having fully described my new monumental design, what I claim is-- The design for a monument substantially as illustrated and described.
