SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,254, dated September 25, 1900.
Application filed August 27, 1900. Serial No. 28,260- Term of patent 7 years- To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, WILLIAM ARTHUR FEARN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Columbus, in the county of Franklin and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design foraLatching-Lever; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference'being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
In the said drawings, Figure 1 is a side elevation. Fig. 2 is a view looking toward the right of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a view looking toward the left of Fig. 1. Fig. 4 is a plan view. Fig. 5 is a sectional view on a plane indicated by the line 1 y, Fig. 4.
In the views the hub portion 1 is shown to have formed in relief around its outer side a. series of facets 2, of the form of isosceles triangles, with their apexes pointing up. The upper portion of the hub has projecting upwardly and outwardly therefrom wings 3, of
rounded leaflike form. The hub also is shown to have an axial opening 4 tapering inward from both ends of the hub. The lever portion 5, which projects laterally from the hub, is shown to taper toward its outer extremity and to be rounded on its upper side and flat on its base, the base of the lever coinciding with the base of the hub.
The leading or material feature of the design is the winged hub with the central tapering opening and the laterally-projecting lever-arm.
What I claim is- The design for a latching-lever, substantially as herein shown and described.
