4 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CLINTON E. FRITZ, OF NEW OXFORD, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN 'FOR A HOOK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,163, dated September 4, 1900.
Application filed July 27, 1900. Serial No. 25,056. T of te t '7 yea s,
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CLINTON E. FRITZ, a citizen of the United States, residing at New OX- ford, in the county of Adams and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a certain new and useful Design for a Hook; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to a new and useful design for whiffletree-hooks, and the general design for the hook is clearly illustrated in the accompanying drawings, which, with the letters of reference marked thereon, form a part of this application.
My design is clearlyillustrated in the drawings, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of the hook, and Fig. 2 is a side elevation. Fig. 3 is an end elevation of the hook.
Reference now being had to the details of the drawings by letter, A designates the shank of the hook, having a loop B at one end. At a location designated by letter C in the drawings the shank is bent upon itself in inverted- U shape, and at D the wire forming the hook is bent at right angles to the downwardlycurved inverted-U- shaped portion, and is then bent in circular form, surrounding the shank portion, which extends from the loop to the curve C, said shank portion forming the center of the circular portion, and the extreme end is bent away from the looped end and in a direction parallel to the shank A and terminates at a location one-half the distance between said circular portion and the point 0.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure byLetters Patent, is
The design for a hook substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
CLINTON E. FRITZ. WVitnesses:
M. D. DIEHL, H. O. MEcKLEY.
