DESIGN FOR A TOY BANK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,310, dated March 6, 1900.
Application filed February 3, 1900. Serial No. 3,904. Term of patent '7 years.
To all mhrnn [I may concern:
Be it known that I, ADAM C. WILLIAMS, a resident of Ravenna, county of Portage, and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a certain new and useful Design for Toy Banks; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of theinvention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use the same.
This invention has relation to a certain new 1 d original design for toy banks; and it consists in the novel configuration and arrangement of parts hereinafter described, and illustrated in the drawings.
Figurel is a front elevation of my toy bank. Fig. 2 is a top plan of my toy bank.
My design consists in a toy bank having the form and configuration substantially as shown in the accompanying drawings.
By referring to the drawings it will be seen that the bank is approximately square in plan, having four main walls a, b, c, and (Z, flanked at each corner by four square towers e, f, g, and h, extending from the ground to the roof.
Referring to Fig. 1, (1' indicates one of the main walls of the bank. The other three main walls I), c, and d are in every way similar in configuration to this wall. c and f, respectively, indicate the front walls of the towers c andf.
Open-work or grill design is used to represent the windows and the intervening wallspaces. These windows a are arranged in twelve horizontal rows, as in a twelve-story building. Under each open space or window a raised ribs a are formed to represent window-sills. At the bottom of the wall (I, in. the center thereof, three doorways a a", and of are represented. Four parallel ornamental ledges a are formed extending horizontally across the face of each wall.
2' and 1?, respectively, indicate joining walls between the front wall a and the tower-walls e and f, respectively. The onlyornamentation on these walls are the ledges a. A molding j extends along the top of the walls immediately under the roof.
7. indicates the roof of the bank. This roof is flat and the surface is slightly corrugated. A slot 7.1 is formed in the center of the roof. A railing or parapet m extends along the edge of the roof above each of the four walls. On
" each corner of the roof, immediately over each tower, turrets Z are formed. These turrets are of the familiar lantern type, the body portion Z being cylindrical in form and provided with two rows of windows. The body portion Z is surmounted by a cupola P, which is capped by a small globe or knob I.
As the width of the sides is less than half the height of the bank, the design has the effect of a modern skyscraper.
Having described and explained my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a toy bank, substantially as herein shown and described.
Signed by me at Cleveland, Ohio, this 10th day of December, 1899.
ADAM \VILLIAMH.
