DESIGN FOR THE EXTERIOR OF A CHAPEL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,551, date Dec mber 31, 1889.
Application filed December 7, 1889. Serial No. 332,9'75- Term of patent 3% years.
1'0 all whom it may concarn' Be it known that I, GEORGE C. .GILLESPIE, of Brooklyn, in the countyof Kings and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for the Exterior of a Chapel, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a chapel embodying my design. Fig. 2 represents a plan or ground View of the chapel.
Similar letters of reference designate corresponding parts in both the figures.
The general plan of a chapel embodying my design is rectangular on the ground floor, there being at one end a tower.
The front of the chapel embodying my design is illustrated as having a door A, to which a flight of steps a leads. The door A is surmounted by a cornice F) and pediinent 1). Between the cornice b and the frame of the door A are consoles 0. At one side of the door A is a mullioned window B. Beyond the lnullioned window B and at the corner of the chapel is a tower O, rising from the ground Between the rnullioned window B and the tower O is a doorway D, to which a flight of steps d leads. l
The tower O is surmounted by a dome E, upon the top of which is shown a cross 6. Between the dome E and the tower C pillarsfare represented as extending, a balcony F being between the dome and the upper end of the tower.
The body of the chapel is surmounted by gable roofs G H I. The gable roof G surmounts the front of the chapehthe gable roof ll extending to one side thereof and the roof I extending at the rear thereof. Beneath the roof H and at the side of the chapel is a mullioned window J.
\Vhat I claim is- The design for the exteriorof achapel,substantially as herein shown and described.
