UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CARL C. SCHMIDT, OF ST. JOHN, CANADA.
DESIGN FOR A SPOON, FORK, OR KNIFE HANDLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,082, dated January 9, 1900.
Application filed December 12, 1899. Sierial No. 740,129. Term of patent 3! years.
To all whom zit may concern:
Be it known that I, CARL C. SCHMIDT, acitizen of the Dominion of Canada, residing at St. John, in the county of St. John, Province of New Brunswick, Canada, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Spoon, Fork, and Knife Handles; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanyingdrawing, forming a part thereof.
The figure is a front elevation of a handle, showing my new design, the same being shown by full lines as attached to a spoonhandle and by dotted lines as attached to a knife-blade and fork-tangs.
As shown in the drawing, the leading or material feature of my design consists of the formation of the upper end of the handle with the numerals 1 and 9 and two ciphers thereon.
The intermediate portion A of the handle merges at the upper end thereof into two out wardly-curved arms 13 and is provided be tween said arms B with a dome-shaped portion C. The ciphers are disposed at the upper ends of the arms B, while the numeral 9, which is of about the same size as the ciphers, is arranged between the same.
The numeral 1, which is of greater length than the numeral 9 and the ciphers, surmounts the dome-shaped portion C and extends through the eye of the numeral 9 to a point above the same.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a spoon, fork, or knife han dle, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
CARL C. SCHMIDT.
