UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JAMES R. DAVIDSON, OF CONNELLSVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR A BOILER OR KETTLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,820, dated November 14, 1899.
Application filed Dctuber 9, 1899. Seria1No.7S3,104. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it 717/6111] concern:
Be it known that 1, JAMES R. DAVIDSON, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Connellsville,in the countyof Fayette and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a certain new and usefulDesign for a Boiler or Kettle, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad therein to the accompanying drawings.
This invention relates to a certain new and novel design in a boiler or kettle, and has for its object to form a vessel of this character that will be symmetrical in form and present a most pleasing effect to the eye.
The invention has for its further object to form a vessel the contour lines of which may be principally elliptical and present no sharp corners at any point.
In describing the invention in detail reference is had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, and wherein like numerals of reference indicate corresponding parts throughout both views, in which- Fignre 1 is a side elevation of myboiler or kettle. Fig. 2 is a top plan view of the same.
In the drawings, the reference-numeral 1 represents the base-line and forming a ridge 2, the contour of said ridge being elliptical in form, the said ridge joining the body portion 3 of the vessel, the latter being likewise elliptical in form. At the upper extremity of the said body portion a dome 4 is secured, said dome having semicircular sides 5 and is like- Wise elliptical in form of general outline. A fiat top 6 connects the semicircular sides 5 of the dome 4 and carries centrally a knob 7.
It will be seen that the herein-described design of vessel presents a peculiar appearance and effect which distinguishes it from other designs of vessels of this class.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a boiler or kettle, substantially as described.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
JAMES R. DAVIDSON.
