UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
VILLIAM A. ELLIOT, OF YONKERS, NEW YORK, ASSIGNOR TO THE BIGELOW CARPET COMPANY, OF MASSACHUSETTS.
DESIGN FOR CARPET-BORDER.
SPECIFICATION forming part Of Design N0. 31,776, dated October 31, 1899.
Application filed August 31, 1899. Serial No. 729,134. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom t may concern:
t Be it known that I, WILLIAM A. ELLIOT, a
citizen of the United States, and a resident of Yonkers, county of Westchester, and State of New Yorlghave invented a new and original Design for a Carpet-Border, of which the following is a specification.
My design, as shown in the drawing, consists in a new design for the border of a carpet.
The design is characterized, first, by a row of clusters of flowers and foliage su pported on an ornamental bar running longitudinally with the border, said clusters being connected by loops, and, second, by two rows of stem-andspray effects, one or both of which is combined with -flowers or ornamental Iigures. These two outer rows are separated by a conventional line of beading, and outside or beyond said rows are other conventional ornamental lines. Near the inner margin of the border is a row or line of delicate sprays and flowers and a conventional line of beading. The dierent rows and lines above referred to are substantially parallel with each other and extend longitudinally with the border.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is A The design for a carpet-border, substantially as described and shown.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
WILLIAM A. ELLIOT.
Witnesses:
