SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,645, dated October 10, 1899.
Application tiled June 6,1899. Serial No.719i615. Term of patent 14 years.

le it known that I, CHARLES KINGSTON WELCH, engineer, a subject of the Queen of Great Britain, rcsidingat Park House, Coven try, England, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Tires for Bicycles, of which the followingr is a specification.
This invention relates to anew and original design for tires for bicycles and other vehicles, and more particularly pneumatic tires.
According to my new design the outer or tread surface of a tire is formed with a plain or arched central portion, on each side of which are two contiguous longitudinal undulatory ridges of approximately rectangular shape in cross-section. The ridges of each pair are disposed in such manner that the crests of one ridge break joint with the crests of the other ridge. Arranged centrally upon each ridge is a continuous rib or projection of triangular shape in cross-section.

What I claim is- The design for a tire as herein shown and described.
