DESIGN FOR A WASHSTAND.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,096, dated June 27, 1899.
Application filed May 13, 1899. Serial No. 716,751. Term of patent 7 yearsv To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, PETER J. VETLEsEN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Minneapolis, in the county of Hennepin and State of Minnesota, have invented and produced a certain new and useful Design for Washstands; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in designs for washstands; and it consists of the configuration more fully hereinafter explained.
The accompanying facsimile or drawing illustrates a \vashstand embodying the features of the design.
The design consists of compound-curved frame members 1, 2, and 3, of greater width apart at the bottom than at the top and connected to a top ring 4 and an intermediate ring 5, the bottoms of the members 1, 2, and 3 terminating in scroll-feet 6, projected in such directions as to serve the purpose of baserests. are located and also extend outwardly in 0pposits directions and assist in giving the entire device a stable support. The frame'membore 1, 2, and 3 have a network 8, attached thereto at the rear, leaving the front side of Between the said feet other scrolls 7 the device open, and secured to the said members at regular intervals are horizontal plates or rest-s 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13. These plates or base-rests are arranged in vertical alinement and each has a surrounding scalloped guard 14 and are supported by scroll-brackets 15, extending inward from the frame members. The several plates, together with the rings 4 and 5, provide means for holding articles pertaining to a bedroom or lavatory service, and around the rear partof the upper ring 4 a guard 17 is attached and in the form of a conventional acauthus.
From the side members 1 and 2 of the frame scrolls 18 project outwardly, and near the bottom of the design are opposite single acanthus-leaves 19.
The essential features of the design, however, reside in the frame members 1, 2, and 3, the rings 4and 5, and the plates or supports 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 of the form set forth.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new is- The design for a washstand herein show and described.
