NITE b TATE ATET l rrrcno CHARLES H. HAWKINS, OF ALLIANCE, OHIO, ASSIGNOR OF ONEHALF TO GEORGE W. SOHOOLEY, OF SAME PLACE.
COMBINED WASH STAND AND BRACKET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 368,830, dated August 23, 1887.
Application filed April 25, 1887.
T aZZ whom it may concern: Be it known that 1, CHARLES H. HAWKINS, of Alliance, in the county of Stark and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combined YVaslrStand and Bracket; and I do herebydeclare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains IO to make and use it, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, which forms part of this specification.
My invention relates to an improvement in combined wash-stands and brackets; and it con- I 5 sists in a vertical back which is suspended against the wall, a basin-holder which is formed from a single bent wire or rod and which is attached to the back, and which has its upper ends turned outward, and two shelves or brackets which are attached to the upper ends of the rod, as will be more fully described hereinafter.
The object of my invention is to provide a combined wash-stand and bracket which is to be suspended from the wall, so that no part of it will rest upon the door and thus take up unnecessary room.
The accompanying drawing represents a perspective of a device embodying my invention.
A represents the back, which is formed of a strip of board of suitable length and width and which is secured directly to the wall. Thebasin-holder Bis formed from a single rod or wire,
Serial No. 236,048. (No model.)
(3, which has its lower portion turned horizon- 5 tally upward and formed into the ring which supports the basin, and which has its central portion to extend vertically up the back, to which it is secured by means of suitable staples or other suitable clamping devices. The up- 0 per ends, E, project horizontally outward in opposite directions, and then are turned at right angles, so as to extend horizontally out- Ward from the wall, and these outturned ends are forced into openings made in therear edges of the brackets G. The inner ends of the brackets are braced and supported together by a rod or wire, H, which extends horizontally across from one to the other and which forms the support for the towel. The brack- 5o ets serve to hold any devices which it may be desired to place thereon and are supported entirely by the rods or wires, as shown.
Having thus described my invention, I claimg The combination of the'back, the rod or wire which is secured thereto and which forms a basin-holder at its lower ends and supports for the brackets at its upper ends, and the rod or wire which extends across between the brackets, substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
CHARLES H. HAWVKINS.
