DESIGN FOR A HY DROCARBON-BURNER.
To all wit/077?, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, BENJAMIN N. HAWEs, a citizen of the United States, residingin the city of Washington, District of Columbia, have invented and produced a new and original Design'for Hydrocarbon -'Burners, of
which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, formingpart thereof.
The leading or essential features of my design consist in the peculiar or characteristic shape of the inixer, the base, and retort, and more especially the top plate of said mixer and the oppositely-disposed jet-pipe supports thereon.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of the burner, and Fig. 2 is a top plan view thereof.
v and forms a part thereof, which plate is formed with circular openings j and generally oblong openings 70, having their sides parallel, the ends thereof next to the center of the plate being slightly curved,while the outer or opposite ends have slight inwardly-bowed curves connecting the sides. Oppositely disposed at the center of the top plate are two circular openings Z, between which is a third circular opening m, through which passes a vertical pipe 71, carrying at its upper end a horizontal pipe extending parallel to said plate and having its outer ends resting in circular recesses 0, made in the upper ends of short uprights 1), formed integral with the top plate. v
The letter q represents the jets, which are secured to the end portion of the horizontal pipe in such a position as to come over the circular openings in the top plate.
What 1 claim is- The herein-described design for a hydrocarbon-burner substantially as shown and described.
