UNITED STATEs PATENT OFFICE.
W'ILLIAllI TAYLOR; OF DETROIT, MICHIGAN.
DESIGN FOR A HlNG E.
To all whom it 17mg concern.-
Be it known that I, WILLIAM TAYLOR, a citizen of the United States, residing at Detroit, county of Vayne, State of Michigan, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Hinge; and I declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such aswill enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification.
Figure 1 is a plan View. vation.
.A, B, and 0 indicate leaves of a hinge. The leaf A has at its extremity a nearly-round bu tton having a nearly half-globular boss on one side. Frolnone side of the button a neck 17 extends and bends to nearly a right angle. From the angle the leaf extends to the joint. There this part terminates with a nearly-glob nlar head I). At one side of the head I) is a head 0 of a second leaf 0, and at the other side of the head I) is the head cl of the third leaf D. The leaf 0 is sharply angled at 0 Fig. 2 is a side eleand between the angle 0 and the head 0 the body of the leaf is round in cross-section. The other branch 0 of the leaf G is flattened on one face and curved on the other. The angles of the two bent leaves are so arranged that when the leaf D lies parallel to the branch c of the leaf 0 the parts a extend parallel to that part of the leaf 1 which lies between the angle and the head I).
That part of the hinge which is immediately around the pintle presents the appearance of three balls or globes with slightly-flattened faces at their place of contact. A stem extends from the middle ball to the circularbutton a, and from the ball at one side extends a bent leaf and from the other a straight leaf.
What I claim is The design for a hinge, shown and described.
In testimony whereof I sign this specification in'the presence of two witnesses.
WILLIAM TA-YLOR.
