SPECIFICATION forming part Of Design No. 30,799, dated May 16, 1899.
Application filed April24, 1899. Serial No. 714,318- Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom zit may concern.-
Be it known that I, JAMES E. BRADLEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Bethany, in the county of Harrison and State of Missouri, have invented and produced a new and original Design fora Sprayer Attachment for ashing Maehiues, of which the following is a specification.
This design relates toanew and original design for a sprayer attachment for washingmachines; and it has for its object to provide a machine of this character that shall be both useful and ornamental.
The leading feature of the design resides in an approximately elliptical body having a poripheral series of upright tubes, triangular in cross-section and provided at the inner side, in the apices thereof, with a longitudinal series of spray-holes.
A minor feature of the design is the approximately elliptical oblong body having a peripheral pendent flange and a downwardlydished top portion provided within the valley thereof with a longitudinal series of perforations.
Additional minor features of the design are a pair of the cross-sectional triangular tubes, being arranged, respectively, at opposite ends of the body, and the remaining tubes at the longitudinal side edges thereof.
Another minor feature of the design is an approximately elliptical wire band lying parallel with the body and encircling the entire series of upright tubes, said band connecting with said tubes at the extreme upper ends thereof.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of a sprayer attachment for washingmachines embodying the herein-described design. Fig. 2 is a vertical longitudinal sectional view thereof. Fig. 3 is a cross-sectional View of the same.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, the numeral 1 designates an approximately elliptical body having uniformly round ends 2, a downwardly-dished top portion 3, and a peripheral pendent flange 4, extending continuously around the edge thereof.
lhe downwardly-dished top portion 3 of the approximately elliptical body is provided centrally within the valley thereof with a longitudinal series of perforations 5, and arising from said top portion of the body, at the periphery of the latter, are a plurality of peripheral series of upright tubes 6. The said tubes are triangular in cross-section, with their fiat bases or sides 8 disposed within the exterior plane of the body, and said tubes are provided atthe iunerside, in the apices thereof, with a longitudinal series of spray-holes 0.
A pair of the cross sectional triangular tubes 6 are arranged, respectively, at opposite ends of the body, while the remaining tubes are located at the longitudinal side edges of the body, and all of the tubes taper slightly toward the upper ends thereof.
The design is completed by an approximately elliptical Wire band 10, lying parallel with the body and encircling the entire series of cross-sectionally triangular tubes 6, said wire band 10 connecting with the tubes at the extreme upper ends thereof.
What is claimed is- The design for a sprayer attachment for washing machines, herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto afiixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
