TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, JOHN M. HALL, of the city and county of Philadelphia, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a. new and useful Design for BuriaLCaskets; and I do hereby declare the following to be a description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making part of' this specification, in which- Figure 1 is u top or plan view of tho design illustrating my invention.
Figure 2 is a. side view thereof.
Figure 3 is a vertical section in line n: z, fig. 2.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in the several figures.
My invention consists in the peculiar configuration of a casket or coiin, whereby n. neat and attractive design is produced, as is illustrated in the drawings.
A represents the casket or coHin. Its sides, a a, run parallel to euch other to the point b, where each end turns inward and forms four outwardly-rounded corners, c c.
The rounded ends are joined to the head and foot-pieces d d, so that each side runs in an unbroken line from end to end, as shown in figs. l und 2.
The lid B will conform with the body A, and be somewhat raised on top, and have a'single moulding, e. The under side of the lid will present the appearance of a. truncated pyramid.
Having thus described my invention, whatI claim ns new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for the configuration of the burial-casket, substantially as represented and described.
To the above I have signed my nume, this 11th day of April, 1868.
