UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
DAVID B.
\VIIEEL COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR AN EMERY-GRINDER FRAM E.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,495, dated April 4, 1899.
Application filed March 11, 1899. Serial No. 708,781- Term of patent 7 years.
To (all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, DAVID L. HYDE, acitizen of the United States, residing at Springfield, in the county of Clark and State of Ohio,
have invented and produced a new and original Design for an Emery-Grinder Frame, of which the following is a specification.
In the accompanying drawings, which form part of this specification, Figure 1 is a per- IO spective view of a grinder-frame, showing my new design. Fig. 2 is a vertical cross-sectional view taken through the center of the frame.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or r 5 material feature of my new and original design eonsists in having the upper part A of the frame constructed substantially diamond shape and mounted on a base or pedestal 13, as shown and hereinafter more fully identitied. This diamond-shaped upper part is provided at or near its center with a sleeve-like portion a, which extends lengthwise therewith from each end toward the center and joins a square-shaped opening (1' in the center of the frame, as shown. The outer edge of the diamond-shaped frame is provided with broad flanges or ribs (1?, and the lower part of the frame proper recedes longitudinally and extends laterally until it assumes a square shape, as shown at a, where it joins the pedestal or lower portion B. The base or pedestal 13 on which this diamond-shaped upper part is supported is constructed on the order of a truncated pyramid, which at the bottom extends laterally into flanges b to form a supporting-base, the whole forming a pleasing outline, as shown.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for an emery-grinder frame substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 3d day of March, A. I). 1899.
DAVID l3. HYDE.
