DESIGN FOR A CHIMNEY COWL OR CAP.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,284, dated February 28, 1899.
Application filed Janua y 30, 1899. Serial No. 703,904. Term of patent 14 years.
To ail whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, JOHN A. HOLMBERG and FRANCIS II. DUNCAN, of Kansas City, Jackson county, Missouri, have invented and produced a newand original Design for Chimney Oowls or Caps, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
Our invention relates to a new and useful design for chimney cowls or caps.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 represents a perspective view, and Fig. 2 a central vertical section, of a chimney cowl or cap, showing our new design, and the leading or material feature of the same resides in the reetan gular neck, with the annular base-flange projecting outward from said neck and the rectangular cap supported above said rectangular neck with an intervening space by means of vertical arms.
Minor features of our design are embraced in the peak shape of the cap, the depending flanges at the sides and ends of the cap, the arms extending vertically from the sides and ends of the neck to the said flanges of the cap, and the downward-flaring formation of the base-flange and the an gle-flanges depending vertically from the corners of said baseflange.
Referring to the drawings in detail, 1 designates the rectangular neck.
2 designates the annular downwaimllyfiaring base-flange.
3 designates the vcrtically-depcnding corner flanges of the base-flange.
4 designates the peak-shaped cap.
5 designates the vertieally-depending side and end flanges of the peak-shaped cap.
6 designates the vertical arms extending from the neck to the flanges of the cap.
lVhat we claim is-' The design for a chimney cowl or cap, as herein shown and described.
