UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
GEORGE E. KNOWLES, OF NEW YORK, N. Y., ASSIGNOR TO THE AMERICAN MUTOSOOPE COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A PICTURE-EXHlBlTlNG-MACHINE CASE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,180, dated February 14., 1899.
Applicati filed January 13, 1899. Serial No. 702,103. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE E. KNoWLEs, a citizen of the United States, residing in the borough of Brooklyn, in the city and State of New Y0rk,have invented and produced a new and original Design for Picture-Exhibiting- Machine Cases, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanyin g drawings, forming a part thereof.
The subject of this application is a design having reference to the shape or configuration of an article of manufactureto wit., the inclosing case for an apparatus for exhibiting a series of pictures to produce the illusion of animation, and more especially the apparatus now commonly known as the mutoscope.
Figures 1 and 2 are front and side views, respectively, of a case, exhibiting my new design.
A is the pedestal or cabinet. B is the inclosing case proper surmounting the same, which is the leading and material feature of my design. The latter is substantially cylindrical in form, the sides being formed with corrugations or ribs 0, diverging from the lower edge D of the side plate and gradually widening toward the rounded edges of the same, so as to give the case the appearance of an escalloped shell.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a picture-eXhibiting-machine case, as herein shown and described.
GEORGE E. KNOWVLES.
