GEORGE A. LEEOH, OF NEW YORK, N. Y., ASSIGNOR TO EMMA M. LEEOH, OF \VASI-IINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA.
DESIGN FOR A SADDLE-SEAT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,720, dated November 22, 1898. Application filed October 18, 1897. Serial No. 6 5 5,638- Term of patent 14 years.
and State of New York, have invented and.
produced a new and original Design for Saddle-Seats, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, illustrating the same.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of a saddle provided with a saddle-seat embodying my design. Fig. 2 is a side elevation thereof, and Fig. 3 is a plan View thereof.
The distinguishing characteristic of my design resides in the peculiar configuration of the back, base, sides, and pommel, (the latter being closed at the forward end,) as represented in the drawings.
A designates the back of the saddle-seat, upwardly and rearwardly inclined and merging-into the base portion B, from which depend the sloping sides 0.
D designates the two side branches of the pommel, joined at their forward ends to form a horn E. Midway of the saddle-seat and 10ngitudinally thereof extends the slot F from the horn E to the back, so as to divide the base symmetrically. The saddle-seat along the back and sides is bent over outwardly thereat to form a curved edging, as shown.
Having thus described my design, what I claim is* The design for a saddle-seat, substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I hereunto afiix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
GEORGE A. LEEOII.
