DESIGN FOR A HAMMER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,942, dated June 28, 1898.
Application filed May 6, 1898.- Serial No. 679,963. Term of patent 3 years To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, AUGUST WV. HUTAF, a citizen of the United States, residing at H0- boken, in the county of Hudson and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and original Design for Hammers, of which the following is a specification, reference being made to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
In the drawings forming part of this specification, Figure 1 is a side View showing my new design, and Fig. 2 an end view of the handle.
The leading and material feature of my design consists of ahandle A, which is connected with ahammer B, and the hammer B is formed to represent the figure of a man, the head 0 of which is provided with a hat D, which constitutes the hammer proper, and the legs E of the figure are projected in line with the head. The arms E of said figure are folded The handle A is also formed to represent a man having a head a, a hat a and arms a which are raised, and the hands a of which grasp the hands and thighs of the figure which represents the hammer, and the figure A, which represents the handle, is also provided with legs a having feet a one of which is provided at the toe with a backwardlydirected triangular notch or recess a My design is applicable to all forms of hammers or similar devices.
Having fully described the same, I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent The design for a hammer herein shown and described.
