WILLIAM C. LAUTNER, OF ROCHESTER, NEW YORK, ASSIGNOR TO THE IDEAL COUCH AND CASKET COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A COVER FOR BURlAL-CASKETS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,442, dated March 29, 1898. Application filed January 31, 1898. Serial No. 668,680. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, WILLIAM C. LAUTNER, citizen of the United States, residing at Rochester, county of Monroe, State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for the Cover of a Burial- Casket, ofwhich the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a view in perspective of a burial-casket, illustrating my design. Fig. 2 is an end view of the same.
The leading feature of my design consists in the form or contour of the ends of the casket-cover, together with the front portion thereof.
In the drawings, A represents the top portion of the cover. A is the front portion thereof.
A represents the end portions of the cover.
The front portion of the cover projects downward from the top portion thereof to form a considerable portion of one side of the casket when in place.
The ends of the cover project from the rear edge of the cover downward to the lower edge of the front portion thereof. A cove-molding is shown at the ends and front of the cover above the ends and front portion thereof, as indicated at A The contour of the lower edges of the ends of the cover are curved or scalloped.
\Vhat I claim as my invention is The design for a cover of a burial-casket as herein shown and described.
