DESIGN FOR A HAMMER, LIFTER, AND TACK-FULLER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,861, dated November 16, 1897- Application filed September 29,1897. Serial No. 653,523. Term of patent '7 years.

Be it known that I, \VILLIAM C. IIooKER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Abingdon, in the county of Knox and State of Illinois, have invented a new and original Design for a Hammer, Lifter, and Tack-Puller, of which the following is a specification.
The leading feature of my design for a combined hammer, lid-lifter, and tack-puller consists of a broad curved claw extending from the hammer midway between the head and pointed end thereof, said claw having a curved sunken cavity in the face thereof.
A minor feature of my design consists in a handle with a bow or loop and with longitudinal channels between the bow or loop and the implement-body.
In the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, Figure 1 is a perspective view ofa combined hammerdid-lifter, and tack-puller showing my design. Fig. 2 is an edge elevation. Fig. 3 is a plan view showing the reverse side of the implement. Fig. is a cross-section through the handle.
In the drawings, 1 designates the body of the hammer. 2 is the hammer-head, and 3 is the pointed end of the hammer. The body 1 has the depressions 5 in its faces, and the ends of these depressions are contracted on curved lines, (indicated at (5.) The handle 7 is an open loop for a part of its length, and between the open loop and the hammer-body is a web 8. ,The handle is ribbed on opposite sides of the web and provided with longitudim l channels S.
(J designates the claw, which projects from the body 1 at the middle thereof and from the opposite side to the handle 7. This claw is eoneavo-convex, and in the concave face of the claw is a sunken cavity 11 \Vhat I claim is-- The design herein shown and described fora combined hammer, lid-lifter and tackpuller.
