SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,458, dated August 3, 1897.

Application filed June 26.1897. Serial No. 642,544. Term of patent 7 years.

Be it known that I, ALEXANDER CAMERON, Jr., a citizen of the United States, residing at Richmond, in the county of llenrico and State of Virginia, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Boxes or Cans; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.

My invention relates to a design for the ornamentation of boxes or cans, as will be hereinafter described, and illustrated in the accompanying drawing.

The figure is a perspective view of the box or can, showing my design thereon. 1

As shown in the drawing, the leading or material features of my design consist of a rectangular space or outline A, having a band i or panel B extending diagonally across the rectangular space and forming two triangular panels I) Z) above and below the diagonal band and having a centrally-arranged circle a and a smaller circle a a on each side of the centrally-arranged circle. Above the circles are two small scrolls or panels 0 C, and below the circles is a broad scroll D, extending through the lower triangular panel and the diagonal band.

Having now described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

The design for the ornamentation of a box or can, substantially as herein shown and described.
