SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,396, dated July 20, 1897'.
A plication filed May 24, 1897. Serial No. 637,964. Term of patent 7 years.
Be it known that; I, AR'IIILTR R. SELDEN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of Rochester, in the county of Monroe and State of New York, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for Ironing-Plates of Ironing-Machines, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure l is a perspective \'l0\\' of an ironing-plate embodying my design; and Fig. 2 is an end. View, somewhat enlarged, thereof.
As shown in the drawings, the leading featu re of my design consists in the conformation given to the ironi ngplate, which, as seen most clearly in Fig. 2, is a concave-convex middle portion A, extending through the greater portion of the width of the plate and having the two edge portions 1; 1 turned upward from the ends of the middle portion A, thus producing curvatures C (J of short radius. From the ends of the eurved portions 0 C the edge portions 1 I extend in straight lines. \Vith reference to a medial plane (indicated by the line ..r' a in Fig. 1?) the two sides of the plate are symmetrical. In lines or planes running longitudinally the plate is straight.
\Vhat I claim is The design for ironing- Hates of ironinginaehines substantially as shown and described.
