DESIGN FOR A BICYCLE-FRAME.
SPECIFICATION forming part. of Design No 27,187, dated June 8, 1897.
Application filed April 14, 1897. Serial No. 632,185. Term 0Fpatent14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HENRY BUSSE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Williamsport, in the county of Lyeoming and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for BicycleFrames, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying d rawing, forming a part thereof.
The accompanying drawing illustrates my design.
The leading feature of my design consists in a bicycle-frame, the rear portion of which is circular in outline, with the rear wheelbearing eccentrically located therein.
A represents the steering-head, and B the frame. Starting at point 1 on the steeringhead the frame extends rearward in a gradual downward curve or sweep to a point ap- 2o proximately below the rear axle and then upward and around in the outline of a eirele2.
A bearing 3 for the axle of the rear wheel is eeeentrically located within this circle. Another har 4 of the frame starts at point 5 on the steeringhead, a short distance above the point 1, and extends rearward and downward, joining the main frame at point 7, after which it extends upward, joining the main frame again at pointSand terminating in the seat-socket 9.
In the space formed in the frame forward of circular rear portion the hearing 10 is loeated, it. being secured to the three surrounding parts of the frame.
\Yhat I claim is The design for bicycle-frames substantially as herein shown and described.
