Description

@uiten tetn etnttt @fficeO ELISHA MORGAN, OF SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS. Design No. 2,688, dated June 25, 1867.
DESIGN ron AN ENVBLOPE.
TO ALL WHOM I'l MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, ELISHA MORGAN, of Springfield, in the county of Hampden, and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Design for Envelopes; and I do hereby declare that the following is o full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to understand the somo, reference being had to the drawings, forming part of thislspecification.
The drawings are n back view of this invention.
This invention relates to an ornamental design for envelopes, whereby'snid envelope attains a. novel and elegant appearance, which distinguishes the same from all envelopes heretofore made and known to me.
Figure 1. A represents the top side iinp, which extends from the corners a a, with inclined sides, to b Z1; thence by inclined sides to c c; thence by curved sides to d d; thence from the points d d to e. That portion of the ap A from the points l d to the point e is designed for adhesive gumming, for sealing the envelope, thc application of the gum being restricted between the points d d. B represents the bottom side flap, of the same shape as the flap A. C C represent the end aps, folded under the bottom side Hap B, the ends of the some meeting the point of the bottom side Hap B atf, forming the pocket D, of a similar shape as the top sidc flap A, covering the same.
Figure 2 represents the envelope, described and shown in fig. 1, with the top side Hap folded down, covering the pocket D.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for an envelope asshown and described.
The above specification of' my invention signed by'me this twenty-fourth day of May, A. D. 1867.
E. MORGAN.
