SPECIFIGATIQN forming part of Design No. 26,640, dated February 16, 1897.
Application filed January 13, 1897. Serial No. 619,123. Term of patent 7 years.
5 New York, have invented a certain new and useful Design for a Globe or Shade; and I do hereby declare the following to bea full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which [0 it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention has relation to designs for globes or shades for gas, lamp, or electric lights, and has for its object the provision of a novel design of pleasing appearance; and
:5 my invention consists in the ornamental configuration hereinafter described, and shown in the accompanying drawings, Wherein Figure 1 is a plan view, and Fig. 2 and 3 are side views, of a globe embodying my de- 20 sign.
The body of the globe consists of a number of llat panels A A A, joined edge to edge and curving outwardly toward the top, thus forming a bell-mouthed article polygonal in crossseotion. The upper edge of each flat surface or panel is concaved, and the lower ends of the same are bounded by curved lines I) b I), while the body of the globe merges into the neck of the same through a sharply-intm'ning curved portion B. Suitable surface ornamentations, such as etched figures and the like, may be applied to produce additional ornamental effects.
Having described my invention, I claim The design herein described and shown in the accompanying drawings.
