DESIGN FOR A FONT OF TYPE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,310, dated November 17, 1896.
Application filed September 30, 1896 Serial No. 607,505 Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern/.-
Be it known that I, WILLIS F. CORNELL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Alameda, in the county of Alameda, State of California, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Font of Type, of Which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing.
The figure represents a font of type, including the large and small letters and the numbers.
The leading an d essential feature of my design consists in the heavier shading A, which forms the complete boundary of the tint B, constituting the body of the character. This boundary-shading of said body-tint gives to the character a raised and solid appearance, which is the object in View.
