DESIGN FOR A BADGE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,170, dated October 13, 1896.
Application filed July 18, 1896. Serial No. 599,739. Term of patent 3! years.
Be it known that I, JOHN W. IIEsKE'r'Ii, a citizen of the United States, residing at Salem, in the county of Richardson and State of Nebraska, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for Badges;
and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention has relation to a design fora badge.
It relates to the entire configuration of the badge.
My invention relates particularly to a badge as illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in Which Figure l is a front View of a badge embodying my design; and Fig. 2 is a transverse section of the same, showing the pin on the back for securing the badge to the lapel of the coat.
The leading features of my design appear in the following description:
The design comprises a large and a small disk connected by a parallel yoke. The larger disk is approximately sixteen times the area of the smaller one and is ornamented with light shaded lines to form a contrast with the smaller disk, which is ornamented with heavy shaded lines. The larger disk is colored to represent silver and the smaller disk to represent gold.
Having thus described my design, What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent,
The design for a badge, substantially as shown and described.
