DESIGN FOR A MAT.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,787, dated July 14, 1896.

Application filed November 2'7 1895. Serial No. 570,327. Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, HERB-MANN STUBNER, of Carlton Hill, in the county of Bergen and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Mats, of which the following is a specification.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a face view of a mat embodying my design. Fig. 2 is a transverse section along the line of any two adjacent rows of teeth. Fig. 3 is a longitudinal sect-ion through the mat.

Similar letters of reference designate corresponding parts in all the figures.

The leading feature of my design consists in a number of wedge-shaped teeth or projections arranged in rows, so that the teeth or projections of each row will overlap the spaces between teeth or proj eetions of the next adjacent rows.

A designates the body portion of the mat, and B an encircling border. The exposed face of the body portion is in the form or presents the appearance of a number of rows of wedge-shaped teeth or projections a. o the teeth or projections of each row being arranged to overlap the spaces between the teeth or projections of the next adjacent rows.

\Vhat I claim as my design, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

The design for a mat comprising a number of wedge-shaped alternately-spaced teeth or projections arranged in rows, substantially as shown and described.
