DESIGN FOR QUILTING.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No.1BAO1, dated June 19, 1888.
Application filed January 27, 1888. Serial No,263,i82. Term of patent 7 years.
To aZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, CHARLES 'I. WAGNER, of College Point, Queens county, State of New York, have originated and produced a new Design for Quilting, of which the following is a specification.
My design relates to quiltiugs which are manufactured for linings for skirts, for garments, and for bed-coverings.
The design consists in a number of rows of circles and intermediate rows of bracketlike figures, alternate rows of bracketlike figures being so arranged that the bracket-like figures will extend in reverse directions from those of the adjacent rows, and the diti'ercnt rows of circles being staggered.
The accompanying drawing is a view of it piece of quilting embellished with my design.
It consists, essentially, of rows of circles a a, which are staggered, or, in other words, so arranged that the circles of the rows a are 0pposite the spaces between the circles of the rows a. Between the rows of circles are lines shown as bracket-like figures b b". The bracket-like figures of the rows b extend in 11 diiferent direction from the bracket-like figures oi the rows b. The bracket-like figures are shown as extending to the circles on a, and as touching these circles at about the middle thereof.

The design for quilting, composed of rows of staggered circles and intermediate rows of connecting-lines, substantially as shown and described.
